Wednesday, 24th October at 8pm - Border Minority Group - Fourth Wednesday Forum

Annual Lecture - World War I: This lecture will be of special interest to those local families whose ancestors enlisted to serve in  WWI.   In what must be a record for one family, all seven Roberts' brothers from the parish of Errigal Truagh volunteered to serve in the First World War; only four returned alive.  Lecture by David O'Brien and Gordon Lucy "Gone But Not Forgotten".  Learn about the Royal Dublin Fusileers and servicemen including the seven Roberts Brothers from Errigal Truagh who served in World war I.  Light refreshments will be served   Everyone welcome

Guided Tour of Church & Ecclesiastical Site.    Visit from W.I.S.P. (Women in search of Peace, Belfast) -  included as part of Residential Weekend in Bailieborough, Co Cavan

Annual cross community/cross border Carol Service at 3pm.  The service will be led by Walter Pringle and special music will be provided by a local community choir led by Miss Una McGinnity.  Light refreshments afterwards in the Blackwater Valley Learning Centre at Ballyoisin.  Everyone welcome.

Reunion of the Wright Family starting with service of Holy Communion at 11am.  Celebrant : The Rev'd Canon Haydn Smart, retired Rural Dean and Bishop's chaplain for retired clergy, widows etc., Diocese of Peterborough, England (husband of Vera, great-granddaughter of William & Margaret Wright Elvey).

Assisted by The Rev'd Canon Robert Wright, retired rector of Carrickfergus C. of I. (grandson of George & Eliza Wright, Glassmullagh)

Organist:  Ethne McCord (great-granddaughter of William & Margaret Wright, Elvey).     Service followed by tour of church and graveyard.

Service of Introduction for Rev'd Margaret Pringle (new minister in charge of the Donagh Group of Parishes) in St Salvator's Church, Glaslough at 8pm.  Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Community Centre in Glaslough.  Everyone welcome. 

11 May 2008

Open air cross community service in Donagh Old Graveyard conducted by Bishop Michael Jackson and Bishop Joseph Duffy.  Special guest will be the Bishop of Jerusalem.  Refreshments will be served in the C. of I. Parochial Hall, Glaslough Village after the service.   Everyone welcome.
