Open Evening (Wednesday 29th June 2012)

On Wednesday 29th June 2012  Truagh Development Association Ltd hosted an 'Open Evening'  at The Blackwater Valley Lifelong Learning,  Cultural, ICT and Peace Centre.  The Open Evening was attended by a large crowd of people, expressing an interest in courses and activities that they would like to see provided in the locality.  A number of organisations were present on the night who were able to answer questions on course details, financial advice, etc.  These included VEC, FÁS, Equal  Ireland, Lir Business Centre, South West College, MABS, Monaghan Integrated Development, Local Employment Services, Department of Social Protection, Monaghan, Youth Information Services, MJM Training, About Hygiene and local training providers including Vanessa Treanor (Digital Photography), Mark Kelly (Stone Sculture), Breda Treanor (Beauty Therapy), Brenda McGinn (Pottery), Joan Mallon (Art), Mairead O'Connell (Life Coaching) and Patricia Drum (Yoga).

Trip to Roscommon 2012

​On Easter Tuesday 40 people from Aughnacloy and Truagh set off on their first day-trip of the year with tour guide Heather Montgomery.  First stop was the Ulster Canal Stores in Clones, followed by some retail therapy in Cavan, lunch in Carrick-on-Shannon, the Arigna Min in north Roscommon and finally to the Glenview Folk Museum.  A great day was had by all. Have a browse through the pictures to see our parishoners out and about. 

Taste of Truagh 2011

On Thursday 20th October 2011 Truagh Development Association Ltd hosted a 'Taste of Truagh' in the Blackwater Valley Learning Centre - a celebration of local food, arts and crafts.  Over 400 people attended on the night and thoroughly enjoyed the fare on offer.
